Dodicesimo titolo della nostra collana interamente dedicata al violoncello solista nel Settecento, unito ai precedenti con le sonate di Lanzetti, Janson, Duport e Spourni, in questa raccolta si indaga sull’affascinante percorso del violoncello di scuola napoletana in Francia e, parallelamente, intorno agli sviluppi dei rispettivi stili musicali verso la nascita della nuova musica europea nel Classicismo. Dalle ammalianti, ipnotiche atmosfere delle Arie francesi alla vivace teatralità dell’immaginario musicale italiano, attraverso i sessant’anni precedenti la Révolution, il violoncello è stato certamente uno dei più autentici protagonisti.

Twelfth title of our series entirely dedicated to the solo cello in the XVIIIth century, combined with the precedents with the sonatas by Lanzetti, Janson, Duport and Spourni, this collection investigates the fascinating path of the Neapolitan cello school in France and, in parallel, the developments of the musical styles towards the birth of new European music in Classicism. From the bewitching, hypnotic atmospheres of the French Arias to the lively theatricality of the Italian musical imagination, throughout the sixty years preceding the Révolution the cello was certainly one of the most authentic protagonists.
