Questa incisione è in assoluto la prima dedicata alla musi-ca da camera di J.B. Janson. Insieme ai fratelli Duport, fu il maggior rappresentante della scuola violoncellistica francese e ne divenne il primo professore al Conservatorio di Parigi, nell’anno della sua fondazione. Ingiustamente dimenticato dalla storia, le sue prime composizioni rappresentano in modo esemplare la svolta del gusto musicale europeo dallo Stile Galante al Classicismo.

Cet enregistrement est le premier jamais dédié à J.B. Janson. Avec les frères Duport, il était le principal repré-sentant de l’école française de violoncelle et, l’année de la fondation du Conservatoire de Paris, il en devint le premier professeur. Injustement oubliées par l’histoire, ses premières compositions représentent de manière exemplaire le tournant du goût musical européen du Style Galant au Classicisme.

This recording is the first ever dedicated to J.B. Janson. Together with the Duport brothers he was the major re-presentative of the French cellist school, and in the year of the foundation of the Paris Conservatory he became its first professor. Unjustly forgotten by history, his first com-positions represent in an exemplary way the turning point of European musical taste from the Style Galant to Classicism.
