Scipione Sangiovanni graduated with distinction in piano at the age of 18 under the guidance of Mariagraiza Lioy at the Tito Schipa Conservatory in Lecce. He later followed advanced courses held by Ippazio Ponzetta and Vincenzo Balzani at the F.B. Mendelssohn Piano Academy.
He has obtained several International prizes (Jaen Prize, Maria Canals of Barcelona, Tbilisi Piano Competition, Concurso da Cidade do Porto) and he won the first prize at the Svetislav Stancic of Zagreb and at the Rina Sala Gallo of Monza (Italy).
He was invited to perform at Serate Musicali, at the Quartet Society in Bergamo, at the Chopin Society in Lion, at the Trasimeno Music Festival, at the Gioventù Musicale Italiana, and at Furcht Pianoforti Company in Milan. He has performed in important halls such as the Bocconi University in Milan, La Sapienza University in Rome, Sala Pitti in Bergamo, La Fenice Opera house in Venice, Bibena Theatre in Bologna, Mozarteum in Salzburg, Palau de la Musica in Barcelona, Casa da Musica of Porto, Megaron Mousikis of Athens, Bolton Teather of Cleveland, Salle Cortot of Paris, Royal Dublin Society in Dublin, Palacio des Festivales of Santander and Salle Moliere of Lion. In Febraury 2011 he has held a master class on Baroque Music at Music Academy in Zagreb.
Now he is attending the first year of Soloklassen at the Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien of Hannover in the class of Maestro Arie Vardi.
