In questo album si è deciso di affrontare alcune delle più rappresentative opere giovanili di Clara Schumann, dalle Polacche op. 1, alla Sonata in sol minore. Qui scoviamo il clima all’interno del quale la giovane cresce artisticamente, tra pianismo “di bravura”, le influenze chopiniane (le Soirées Musicales op.6), il quasi obbligatorio omaggio alla tradizione viennese (il Souvenir de Vienne op.9 dedicato all’Imperatrice d’Austria) e, altrettanto d’obbligo, l’esperienza della forma-sonata che, insieme alle Romanze op.11, segna il passaggio ad una seconda fase più matura della sua vita e della sua poetica.

This Album tackles some of Clara Schumann most representative early works, from the Polonaises op. 1 (written when she was 13) to the Sonata in G minor (composed at the age of 20). These pages show the environment in which the young Clara grows artistically, namely pianism of “virtuosity”, the influence of Chopin (the Soirées Musicales op.6 ), the almost statutory homage to the Viennese tradition (the Souvenir de Vienne op. 9 dedicated to the Empress of Austria) and, equally obligatory, the sonata that, together with the Romances op. 11, marks the passage to a second, more mature phase – magnificent yet tormented – of her life and poetics.
